About Hayle
Hayle was originally a fishing port, with access out to sea via the Hayle Estuary. In years gone by it was particularly known for its Foundry, from which goods were exported all over the world and from which items were produced for the various mining activities throughout the County. Close to Hayle there are the Towans, where three miles of golden sandy beaches are located, these ultimately stretching up towards Gwithian and Godrevy, with its lighthouse. Also nearby are the neighbouring villages of Angarrack, St Erth and Upton Towans.
